First mentioned as far back as 1120, fourteenth century Morey was a place of asylum for Cistercian monks who appeared to have possessed numerous vineyards and even a winery by 1306. The appellation extends from Chambolle-Musigny to Gevrey-Chambertin and covers around 148 hectares, 80% of which are planted with grapes for red wines. The plot is situated in the village between the "Clos Baulet" and the "Riotte".
We find traces of many localities evoking a land "white" ("blanche" in French) or at least clearer than elsewhere. The Blanchards are included. The vines are planted on clay and limestone soil, stony, brown, medium fertility. The subsoil is made of yellowish and very stony marl.
A charming and feminine wine that will accompany game birds such as duck or partridge for example.
