La Revue du Vin de France highlights Domaine Magnien and the work of Frédéric Magnien, praising the purity, fruit brightness, and precision of our great Burgundy wines. Discover below the reviews and scores awarded by the RVF :
Frédéric Magnien vinifies the wines of the family estate as well as négociant wines under his own name. Both productions are farmed in biodynamics, with a significant proportion aged in clay jars, blended with wines matured in concrete eggs and barrels, never new oak. Whole-cluster fermentation is used sparingly, resulting in wines that stand out for their purity and vibrant fruit expression.
A fine volatile acidity enhances notes of strawberry sorbet and fresh mint. Full-bodied and velvety, this sensual Charmes shines brilliantly and lingers with a radiant finish.
Great refinement, vitality, and silky tannins define this airy, fragrant wine with succulent fruit, supported by perfectly calibrated tannins.
A slight reduction in this amphora-aged wine, vigorous yet intricately crafted. It combines firm structure with finely etched flavors of violet and citrus. Built for excellent ageing potential.
A blend of two parcels, one bordering Clos Saint-Jacques. The result is a softer, more seductive profile than usual for this cru, ideally fresh and graceful.
Notes of black cherry, stone fruit, and dried flowers in this excellent, pulpy and lively Gevrey, very spicy on the finish and still youthful.
A slightly sanguine profile in this dynamic, precise, and sapid red, whose vigor expresses itself through a fine iron-like thread.
With floral aromas dominated by peony, this smooth and precise wine offers energy and freshness, with appealing tannins.
A very delicate mouthfeel and fine volatile acidity define this refined and digestible Fixin, scented with citrus and rose notes.
